Coleus blumei is native to India, Sri Lanka, China, Burma, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia. However, this species is now cultivated around the world. The Mazatec Indians of southern Mexico have been reported to use Coleus blumei for its mind altering effects.
