Description
Ephedra equisetina is an evergreen shrub that is native to the mountains of central Asia. Ephedra equisetina is commonly called Mu Zei Ma Huang. This species is related to Ephedra sinica and is commonly used in the same manner as Ephedra sinica. Ephedra equisetina is believed to have a higher concentrations of saponins that Ephedra sinica. Ephedra equisetina also grows taller and woodier than Ephedra sinica.
